My First Time Trying Turkey Ramen, and It Turned Out…
Meow meow, hello everyone, it’s me, Mydondon! It’s honestly been forever since I last had ramen, and I’m starting to feel a teeny bit guilty toward all the Mydon fans who follow me for more ramen posts. So today I’m tackling the very famous Turkey Ramen (Shichimentori)! No more rambling, let’s dive straight in!

The Interior, the Wait Time, and All the Details

We arrived at Shichimentori at 6:35 PM, and seeing no line out front, we happily strolled in, only to discover the queue was actually inside (ʘᴗʘ✿). Once you’re in, remember to grab a number ticket at the counter first. The shop is thoughtful enough to provide chairs so you can sit while you wait, but the chairs are a tiny bit wobbly (it’s definitely NOT because I’m too chubby), so be careful when you sit down.

Personally, the biggest downside of this place is that the wait is just way too long! We waited about 20 minutes before we even got inside, which is already a bit much, and then after we sat down it took another 28 minutes for the first bowl to arrive, plus another 8 minutes for the second bowl ಠ︵ಠ. If you don’t have a lot of time to spare for your meal, I’d suggest finding another restaurant first.
Shichimentori Ramen: the broth and toppings
But aside from that one thing, this ramen is seriously sooo good! Overall it’s like an extra-rich version of Dao Le ramen, with a broth that’s a sheet of milky white on top, even faintly reflecting the lights. Neatly arranged on top are toppings like fried green beans, sous-vide meat, and tomato, and there’s a subtle chicken aroma wafting through the air that nearly had me drooling all over the floor.
Start by tasting the green beans and baby corn first, and I’d recommend everyone do the same, because fried stuff that soaks in the broth too long stops being tasty! They taste just like traditional Japanese tempura, and if there’s anything different from other shops, it might be that they show up in the broth? It gives the ramen a little extra element of surprise. The sous-vide meat is super tender, and paired with the creamy broth it’s an absolute match made in heaven! Overall it’s a chicken paitan with a really rich chicken flavor, and it’s also a bit different from your usual chicken, so Mydon fans should give it a try!
Other than that, the noodles themselves are pretty much the same as everywhere else. The biggest highlight of this bowl compared to other shops is the addition of uncommon ingredients to the ramen, plus that extra-rich turkey flavor 😂 If you still like my posts, feel free to hit follow!
