Today’s unboxing is one of the Nissin instant noodles I stockpiled a while back: the Korean-style Super Spicy Chicken cup noodle. At NT$45 a pop, it’s a bit on the pricey side for a single bowl of instant noodles, but flavor-wise it offers a little more variety than your average cup.

What’s Inside, Plus a Few Clever Touches
When I first started eating it, I assumed it was a soup noodle, but it turned out this one is meant to be eaten dry. When you open it up there are two seasoning packets inside, and the chili packet is kept separate, which is a really thoughtful touch that gives you the freedom to choose your own spice level.
On top of the fork that comes with this whole product line, they also added a special spout on the back so you can drain the water, which made me feel like a lot of care went into designing this bowl of noodles. Whether it actually tastes good, though, is another matter entirely.
How the Noodles Taste
The moment you take that first bite, the sting of the chili powder starts spreading out from the tip of your tongue, and at first it makes you think it’s going to be seriously spicy. But it vanishes almost immediately, and in the end there’s even a little hint of sweetness left behind, with the heat nowhere to be found.
Overall it’s a tasty bowl of dry noodles, though I feel like the name doesn’t quite match what’s in the bowl. That’s all for today’s intro, and thanks for reading all the way to the end!
