Star vs. the Forces of Evil: A Surprisingly Deep Cartoon Worth Your Time (Spoilers)
Intro and Story Overview
Meow meow, hey everyone! Still trying to figure out what to watch today? If you love cartoons as much as I do, here’s a series you might just fall for, called Star vs. the Forces of Evil.

Star vs. the Forces of Evil is a medium-to-long series — you can binge the whole thing in about 40 hours. The whole story revolves around Star Butterfly, a princess from another dimension called “Mewni,” and Marco, an ordinary guy from Earth. Star has a magic wand that lets her conjure up just about anything she wants — and precisely because of that, evil forces keep showing up at her door.

In Season 1, Ludo — the evil but perpetually failing villain — happens to cross paths with a mysterious figure. Toffee is far more methodical and far more capable than Ludo when it comes to scheming to steal the wand, and in one battle he actually pulls it off. But he doesn’t want to keep it for himself — instead, he demands that Star destroy the wand. In the end, after she recites the last line of an ancient incantation her grandmother taught her, the wand explodes, and the blast takes Toffee out with it. And just like that, Season 1 draws to a close.

Final Thoughts
What I find most fun about this show is that you get to know the side characters across episodes that seem completely unrelated — and then they always end up playing a part in some main storyline. Maybe one turns out to be the biggest villain of all, maybe one is the single most important key, or maybe one is just there to take the fall. Every time it makes me go, “Oh… so THAT’S why this happened back then…” It really feels like putting together a puzzle.
At the same time, each episode isn’t too long — you can finish one in around 10 minutes. But there are a few downsides too: it never just gets on with the main plot. Every time it feels like something big has been discovered, it snaps right back to slice-of-life mode. It’s genuinely agonizing.
That aside, it’s a really fun little gem, and I hope you all enjoy it. Oh, and since you’ve read this far, why not hit that follow button? And if you really don’t want to, there are a few other buttons closer to you — go ahead and press one of those instead.
