Let Down by This Instant Noodle: A Honest Wei Wei Noodles Review
This is my first time trying instant noodles like this… and honestly, all I can say is that they’ll fill you up, but that’s about it. There’s none of that classic instant-noodle aroma. Today I’m eating Wei Wei Noodles (味味麵), and this is the noodle itself, in the braised beef flavor. A single pack costs around NT$13, so it’s pretty budget-friendly.

What the noodles look like
Below is the noodle block. The block is on the smaller side, and the oil sachet is tiny too.

Following the instructions, I added 500ml of water and let it steep for 3 minutes, only to find the broth came out pretty bland. If you want something with more punch, I’d suggest adding less water. Personally, I think they really skimped on the oil sachet, because otherwise this could have been delicious. After steeping, there were a few little bits of dried spring onion. It doesn’t taste too heavy, and the portion is enough to fill you up, I guess. The noodle itself is nothing special either, it just tastes like your average instant noodle. When I first spotted it at the supermarket I really wanted to give it a try… but it just wasn’t all that tasty. Where on earth are the underrated-but-delicious instant noodles hiding?
